Nicole from Lee’s Summit, Missouri is our September 2012 cover model. She was the winner of our Cover Model Search on Saturday, June 23 at the The Bar in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

For this month's cover shoot, we decided to do something a little different, and pull back the veil of secrecy (sounds quite secret and mysterious, doesn't it?), and invite our readers to see what takes place behind the scenes at a Cycle Connections cover shoot. Below is the full interview we conducted with Nicole, along with some additional information we gathered from her, and make sure to check out our Behind the Scenes at Cycle Connections Cover Shoot video showing key parts of Nicole’s interview and photo shoot.

You may also find it interesting to check out the interview with Cycle Connections Editor-in-Chief Mike Schweder (Me) and Cycle Connections Studio Photographer Bruce Stimpson.

Nichole; tell us a about yourself. My name’s Nicole, and I bartend at The Bar in Lee’s Summit. On my time off during the week, I try to read or draw pictures; pretty ones, hopefully with crayon. I like to ride my new Harley; a Heritage Softail. I’m a total dork. I love comic books and cartoons. I wake up every day and turn on Looney Tunes before I go to work. I’m a dork.

What are your ambitions and hobbies? My ambitions are to eventually open my own bar. I work in a bar six days a week, so I kind of have the jest of things there. I just want to have my own. I want to be able to teach people how to be behind the bar and have fun with it; just love it, I want to have my own, and I want to be able to leave whenever I want and ride my bike. I also want to travel across the country on my scooter, and that’s my ambitions. Vice versa; If I own a bar first that’s good. If I ride first and travel, that’s fine. Eventually I’m going to have a bar and then travel. That’s what I want to do.

Awesome! So tell us about your tattoos. They’re really interesting. OK. (Pointing to her left arm). I have a dinosaur here, which I’m a dork for also. I’ve always wanted to be a paleontologist since I was a little kid. I have a parasaurolophus, who people call Barney, which is not cool. I know it’s a purple dinosaur, but it’s not Barney, OK?

(Lifting her left arm and pointing to her bicep) I’ve got Cat Woman. I love Batman, and mostly Cat Woman - Michelle Pfeiffer, favorite actress ever, of all-time.

(Pointing to her left forearm) Black rose I got on my birthday here July 3rd. My boyfriend got me a rose for my birthday. It’s permanent. (Pointing to her left shoulder) And I’ve got my skull and sunflower from my home town. I grew up in Garden City, Kansas; so lot of sunflowers around there.

(Pointing to the inside of her right bicep). And my favorite movie of all time, Who Framed Roger Rabbit. I’ve got Jessica and Roger here.

When asked about hobbies, Nicole said “Cooking out with friends, watching my favorite bands play live, photography, drawing, riding, and when time permits, I like to travel.” Her turn-ons include “Tattoos, motorcycles, and for some odd reason, I have a thing for overalls, and the combination of all three.” Nicole also admits she’s a sucker for “Baby animals, but who isn’t?”

When asked what the smartest and most stupid things she’s ever done, Nicole said “Moving away from my home town” was the smartest, and “I never do anything stupid!” When asked to describe her personality, Nicole said “I think of myself as a unique individual with an old soul.” When asked what she’s told is her best attribute, Nicole said “I’ve been called “legs” on more than one occasion.”

Just for fun, we asked Nicole to share some of her favorite things with our readers:

Favorite color: Cobalt blue.

Favorite food: Spaghetti; ever since I was a kid.

Favorite drink (non-alcoholic): Diet Mountain Dew.

Favorite drink (alcoholic): I rarely turn down a shot of Rumplemitz and a big ol’ glass of water.

Favorite restaurant: Taco Bell.

Favorite actor: Michael Keaton is a badass!

Favorite actress (as if we didn’t know): Michelle Pfeiffer is also a badass.

Favorite TV shows: Who doesn’t love Patrick Jane from The Mentalist?

Favorite movie (again; as if we didn’t know): Who Framed Roger Rabbit (also one of Nicole’s favorite tattoos)

Favorite bands/artists: I will have to say The Clash is my all-time favorite!

Favorite song: Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd.

Do you have pets: Yes, I have three gigantic dogs.

Do you ride? Yeppa!

How long have you been riding? I started racing motocross when I was eight years old.

What was your first bike? It was a 1983 Kawasaki KX 80.

How many bikes have you owned? Well, my mom bought the first two, so I’ve really owned one.

How many bikes do you currently own? Just one; Trixie.

Tell us about Trixie? She’s a 2004 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail.

What do you like most about Trixie? Everything! She’s my first Harley!

What is your dream bike? I would love to have a 1952 Panhead, but the bike I have now is just fine!

What is your most memorable riding experience? My first ride on my bike to Peculiar with my boyfriend leading the way would have to be my most memorable.

Which is your favorite bike night location? The Bar in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, because of the amazing people that work and attend it. It’s a great time!

Do you have a favorite tattoo artist? So far, out of the people who have tattooed me, it would have to be Thad at Hollywood’s House of Ink in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. His line work is out of this world.

Do you prefer riding in a group or by yourself? I would have to say that I prefer to ride by myself or with just one other person, because I’m just starting out on the street.

Who are some of your closest riding buddies? Andrew and Matthew Jansen.

What did you enjoy most about your photo shoot today? It was the best experience I’ve had. I was always so nervous about being in front of the camera, but today it was amazing. Bruce, you’re awesome. You made me feel so comfortable. All you guys. It was fabulous.

And Colby, thank you for being here. I couldn’t have done it without you. I’d have been so nervous without her there today. It was just so natural. Everything came natural, and I thank you again Bruce for that.

And what is your favorite motorcycle magazine? Cycle Connections…Duh!

Ha! Thanks for the interview Nicole.
