Our November 2013 cover bike is owned by Jason Kling, and his 2012 Harley Davidson Street Glide took first place at our Cover Bike Search on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at The Bar in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. We had a great time shooting Cover Model Search winner Melissa on Jason’s bike for this month’s cover.

CC: Jason, what is your occupation?

Jason: I’m a Project Manager at Burns & McDonnell.

CC:What are your hobbies?

Jason: Outside of riding, I also trap shoot., and enjoy shooting at the Lake Lotawana Sportsmen Club.

CC:Why do you ride?

Jason: It is hard to explain the fun of riding unless you ride. It is something fun that the wife and I have enjoyed together for years, going to bike nights, riding with friends and going to rallies. It is also great meeting new people that all have the same common interest of riding.

CC:How long have you been riding, and what was your first bike?

Jason: I’ve been riding for almost 20 years. My first bike was a 1981 Honda CB900 Custom that I bought while in college. When I bought the bike I had never ridden before. I didn’t even know where the clutch or the brake was. A good friend of mine got me started and showed me were first gear was, and off I went.

CC:How many bikes have you owned?

Jason: I’ve owned four total. The 1981 Honda CB900 Custom, a 2003 Honda Sabre, a 2002 Harley-Davidson Deuce, and my 2012 Harley-Davidson Street Glide.

CC:How many bikes do you currently own?

Jason: Just my Street Glide'

CC: What do you like most about your Street Glide?

Jason: The paint job was the first thing we noticed online. The bright orange really caught our eye, but when we saw it in person for the first time, the detail was amazing. As you look closer you’ll notice the details of the lace paint job with flames. It is perfectly outlined with tons of pin striping. The bike flows from the 26 inch wheel all the way to the stretch bags and fender.

CC: What is your dream bike?

Jason: I would have to say I am riding it now. It’s a head turning bike and great to ride, but I can never forget my first Harley, the 2002 Deuce.

CC: What is your most memorable riding experience?

Jason: Going to Sturgis for the first time in 2004. I rode all the way up through the entire state of Nebraska in the rain and rode back nonstop.

CC: Which motorcycle rallies & events have you attended, and which is your favorite?

Jason: Sturgis in 2004 and 2008, Bikes, Blue and BBQ in 2011 and 2013, Lake of the Ozarks Bike Fest, HogRock, and Ralph Wayne’s Backyard Nationals.

CC: Do you have a favorite bike night location?

Jason: My wife and I love going to Russo’s, The Bar, and The American Garage. All three are great local bike nights in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. These places are always a good time with great people.

CC: Who are some of your closest riding buddies?

Jason: I’d like to give a shout out to Ruble, Huttenlocker, and Shanks.

CC: Thanks for the interview Jason, and thanks for letting us shoot your bike for our November cover.
