Wreaths Across America

Written by  January 1, 2019

On Saturday, December the 15th, 2018, Wreaths Across America set out to lay Christmas Wreaths on the graves of our fallen hero's, all across the country, all at the same time and on the same day.

What a wonderful, beautiful way to honor and remember our Veterans here at Christmas.

Here in Alabama, the Legion Post rider's from Post’s # 107 and #171 rode down to Montgomery to the Alabama National Cemetery in rainy conditions where they honored them with a 21 gun salute, and laid wreaths at each branch of service and on each of the grave sites.

The rain didn’t dampen their commitment or spirit and they managed to bring back some really moving pictures.

Closer to home, Leigh went and joined our friends John and Ivey and others at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville, to help hold the flags at their wreath laying where they had the boy scouts and the R.O.T.C join in a cannon salute and laying wreaths at the different branches of service and at each of the grave sites.

They too had to endure the rainy conditions but it did manage to clear somewhat at least while they laid the wreaths.

A grateful nation thanks you ALL for your service, including those across the country that went and did this beautiful thing for our veterans.

Wishing you all a warm and blessed Christmas!
