Our October 2014 cover bike is owned by Mitch Caponetto, and his 2001 Harley-Davidson Softail Standard was selected as the winning bike at our Cover Bike Search on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Blue Springs Harley-Davidson.

Mitch is from Oak Grove, Missouri, and we had the opportunity to gather additional information about him and his Softail Standard. We photographed cover model search winner Danielle on Mitch’s bike for this month’s cover. Also, make sure to check out the Behind the Scenes photos and video from our October 2014 cover shoot!

Mitch: I’ve been riding about 40 years.

CC: What was your first bike?
Mitch: My first bike was a 1976 FLH.

Mitch: 10.

CC: How many bikes do you currently own?
Mitch: Two. My 2001 Harley-Davidson Softail Standard and a 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide.

Mitch: I still ride the piss out of it and it has always run good.

Mitch: When I had my son ride with me.

CC: What is your least memorable riding experience?
Mitch: I bought a new 2006 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic, rode it about three miles from Blue Springs Harley-Davidson, and some bitch pulled out in front of me. I T-boned her at about 50 mph.

CC: Do you prefer riding in a group or by yourself?
Mitch: I like both.

CC: Who are some of your closest riding buddies?
Mitch: My wife, my boy, Mark, Pippie, Dave, and too many others to list.
